50th Anniversary Mudbrick Tour & Workshop

Join the Nillumbik Mudbrick Association for the 50th Anniversary Mudbrick Tour & Workshop—a celebration of Nillumbik’s rich mudbrick heritage and the return of a much-loved local tradition.
This year’s tour features five distinctive mudbrick homes: in St Andrews, Cottles Bridge and Panton Hill. Step inside a carefully curated cross-section of homes and meet the people who live in them. Homeowners will share their personal experiences of building, buying, retrofitting, maintaining and enjoying life in a Nillumbik mudbrick home.
Whether you’re considering building, buying or selling a “muddie”; inspired by bush-modern architecture; interested in sustainable design; or simply curious to look inside these remarkable homes, the tour offers a rare opportunity to experience the warmth, character and craftsmanship of mudbrick living firsthand. There will be a demonstration by NMA volunteers of the tools to make mudbricks and an opportunity to get your hands dirty, at the school site.
