This incorporated association was formed to enable the regionalised supply of retted building grade hemp hurd for Australian construction projects to specifications based on EU standards.
Members are:
Ashford Hemp Industries (NSW), X Hemp (Tas) Margaret River Hemp (WA) ProHemp (Vic) and Australian Hemp Masonry Company.
Our goal is to build the Australian supply of retted building grade hemp hurd for construction to produce the lowest embodied energy hempcrete materials possible. Hemp construction can only significantly reduce Australia’s carbon emissions if the hemp is farmed and processed in Australia and Binders are manufactured domestically.
